I’ve been working in admission for over 10 years, reviewing applications myself as well as being a member of several admission committees. I can tell you there’s not exactly a magic formula or an exact equation colleges and universities use, but primarily, what colleges and universities are trying to decide is if you would be successful at that university or at that college within that specific program. One thing that differs or one big thing is that the process differs at every college and university. I would encourage you to reach out and connect directly with the admission representative at that college or university. Some other things to consider when universities are trying to decide who is offered admission they look at specifically your GPA, your test scores, also leadership experience, community service, in addition to the specific program that you’re considering for admission. Sometimes certain programs have limitations or additional requirements. Also how large the program is. Sometimes programs have limitations on how many people can be offered admission. We wish you the best of luck and certainly encourage you to contact your direct admission counselor.
